So please excuse the almost-finished nursery, but I wanted to at least give an update since I imagine it will only get more hectic, right? For those of you that have been asking, here are some pictures! We are still missing a few things, and I'm sure I'll move some stuff around, but you get the picture. :)

I can't believe that in only 8 short weeks, Jonathan and I will get to meet little Truett and take him home! It's one of those things that causes you to believe, deep in your soul, that there is a God, because how on earth did a human form from nothing? I mean...it really is quite amazing. I am reminded of it daily with every kick, bump, and nudge from the little guy. Sometimes he brings tears to my eyes from punching a little too hard, but at least he's active! I will count my blessings. One, by one, by one, by one, by one.
I am blessed. We are blessed. Can't wait to spend Christmas...as a family.

Tears
This week, as I was watching some TV specials about 9/11, I got to thinking about how many things bring me to tears. Whether that's a good or bad thing, I'm not sure, but I'm thankful that I feel deep emotion either way.
1. I cry when I pray heartfelt prayers to God. I always cry, because I love him that much.
2. I cry when I stop to think about how many things I have to be thankful for.
3. I cried this week when I watched the 9/11 special about kids who will never know their dads.
4. I cry every time I give a heartfelt apology to Jonathan.
5. I cry when I hear music that moves my soul.
6. I cry when I got to see Truett on the sonogram screen.
Yes, I laugh 99 times more than I cry, but those moments that I do shed tears are okay. I don't think I'm a weepy mess by any means, but it does make me realize what I truly hold important, because I only have tears when I deeply care about something. It says a lot about a person. What makes you cry?

A Heart Condition
Ever had that moment when you said something, and then you thought, "Oops, I didn't mean that" or "I don't normally say things like that" or you excuse yourself and say, "Sorry, I'm not sure where that came from!"
Truth is, you think the outburst was an exception, and it kind of was, but it was really just an exception to the general rule that you don't always honestly SAY what you're thinking. It's your heart condition that you should be concerned about, isn't it? Sometimes our hearts go public, and we swear we didn't mean it, but the truth is, we just didn't mean to SAY it.
What's your heart condition? I'm no where near perfect, but I'm trying to clean up that heart a little more every day. I'd like to a have nice, clean, shiny heart someday. One that is healthy and honest 100% of the time.
Slowing Down
There are always going to be meals to fix, bathrooms to clean, things to put away, grass to mow, and bills to pay, but there won't always be time to be with people that I love. I am learning the importance of slowing down, living without so much of a schedule (which is a challenge for me), and I am enjoying every moment of it. Don't forget about what's important today. Your to-do list will always be there. The special moments with people that you love are much more fleeting.

Pumpkin Fluff
So just as I began to lose all hope that Oklahoma was ever going to cool off this year, today we had a morning of 70s! So, of course, I won't waste a moment sharing one of my very favorite fall treats. I have to mention that this is easy, of course, or why would I be making it? :) Well, lets get to it, huh?
You'll need:
1 can pumpkin
1 regular sized container of Cool Whip (I use Lite)
1 small package of instant vanilla pudding mix (I use sugar-free)
graham crackers, apples, pears or whatever you want to dip!
Get yourself a bowl and dump in the pumpkin, the pudding mix, and the Cool Whip, and whip it up!
When you're finished, you'll get something yummy like this! I love serving it with graham crackers, apples, pears, or baked cinnamon sugar tortilla chips. If you're like my husband, you may just eat it with a spoon. :) Welcome, fall!

Give
I heard a really interesting statistic this morning, and it reminded me to be generous. Give, even when you don't think you have the money. It's all about perspective isn't it? You have more than 90% of the what the world has...just in the change tray of your car. If you're reading this blog, stop and thank God for what you have today. You've been blessed. :)
