Not Me Monday

I definitely did not make chocolate chip cookies for some friends and then, when they asked for the recipe, fail to mention that they were pre-made Pilsbury. Not me!

And I did not get stuck going to one awkward lunch with a guy from work that happened to be my worst nightmare because I'm too shy to just speak up. Not me! Especially because it was not my last week there an no one would ever care past that day! Not me!

And it was certainly was not me who witnessed a husband washing the front half of his truck with the squeegee from 7-11 because he was too cheap to go to a car wash. Not me!

You know anyone who has quit their job because they just had to, and then took 3 days of vacation before branching out to a completely different career field? Sounds scary huh? Good thing it wasn't me!

And it was definitely not me who ruined Spaghetti for 12 people and completely made too much, too mushy. Not me!! My spaghetti is always perfect.

I'm so incredibly glad that it was not me who agreed to go to a Twilight New Moon party the night before the big premier. Not me! I have better things to do than attend terrible teeny-bopper events!

I'm so glad it wasn't me who asked quite seriously for a pot-belly pig this week because of a cute picture. Not me! How silly!

I first read this awesome little tradition and had to join in along with Laurie and Kelly and the originator....fantastic MckMama.

I am reading Slaugherhouse 5 this month for book club, not to be confused with Slaughterhouse, which I accidently purchased and returned after opening the cover to horrifying pictures of cows laying in their own puddles of blood!! It's a short book, but such a good read. I'm anxious to finish because I have literally 5 more waiting for me! I love how I reserve books at the library expecting them to come like 3 weeks later, and when I receive a notification e-mail that same week, it feels like Christmas all over again! These public libraries have really been on top of it lately!

I have to admit, I am a little excited about my last 2 days at work!! I will miss Kendi a lot, in fact, Kendi is ALL that I will miss. Pretty sure she's the best and only great thing about that job. :)

How the clock magically ticks to 11:00 p.m. when just 2 minutes ago it was 7:00 p.m. is beyond me. The invisible clock elves really need to cut back on their overtime hours.

Tomorrow's post will be better. Promise.

Is it sad that today is the second time since I've lived here that I've brought out the iron and ironing board? Maybe, but I'm starting new disciplines in my life and this will be one of many. I'm going to iron my own pants. I refuse to pay for the drycleaner to do it anymore. Go me.

I woke up this morning to Bella chewing on something, so I shouted, as I do every time, "Bella, no! What are you chewing on?" ...as if she knows English. Oh she had my favorite jeans. It's not like they were new or anything, but you know you have them. You know? Your favorites? The ones you could wear every day if society would let you? Yup--ruined. Hole in the butt--and it's a pretty big hole. Well, folks, I've done before and I'll do it again. If Bella can't keep her mouth to herself and chews up a couple more of my favorite things, that dog is getting Craigslisted. I can handle the chewed up black ink pen that created a puddle of a landmass in the middle of the living room carpet, the missing carpet by the sliding glass door, the blanketless house because someone had an unmanageable mouth, and the unrecognizable mac computer cord, but this? The jeans...no you didn't.

Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself." -Matthew 22:37-39

I can't wait to break out Mini's reversible coat. It's not a dog torture item, I promise. It was homemade just for her and she actually loves it!

I went to Guymon last weekend to visit and I carved my first (that I can remember) pumpkin!

When you think of home, do you think of a specific thing? I think of my dad with his feet up reading something, and my mom smiling, always happy and sweet.
I love this picture because Mini's tail is wagging so fast that you can barely see it. She's just so excited to have her picture taken!
Here's Lola. She's huge.
Mini kept putting her ball in between Lola's arms. She would inch towards Lola really slow, drop it with a sheepish look, and then back away really fast. She was cracking me up because she knows that Lola would never hurt a fly. She can't move past 1mph.
Listen. I had the most ridiculous moment today, but I am NOT ashamed of it. In fact, I think it happens to more of us than admit it. If not, then maybe I need counseling.

I had a strange encounter with a Michael Kors handbag. Oh my word. It was GORGEOUS!! I have never loved a purse so much. It was a really soft burgandy leather and it was seriously calling my name. I like purses a lot. Jonathan would definitely tell you that. But, I do have control. I think I only have 5 and I love all of them. But, none that I have ever bought compare to this beauty. Am I wierd? Maybe. But it is seriously strange how something so materialistic is so enticing. It's like I lose all sense of reality and I'm questioning whether or not I can afford a $400 purse on sale for $160. Well, probably, but I don't think I should. You know? I know that I don't really need a purse to live, but my heart was telling my brain to shut up and just buy it. I'm SO proud of myself for leaving it. But seriously, I almost didn't. I won't lie, it's stuck in my memory bank forever, and yes, I know that I'm ridiculous.

Be encouraged

It has been a long hard year, but God has been presently there EVERY SINGLE TIME. In fact,

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." -Hebrews 11:1

Do it again Lord. Teach me and stretch me, and when I'm to my breaking point and learning, do it again.

I love God. In fact, he's my very best friend.

"Those who know your name will trust in you,
for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you." -Psalm 9:10
