Outdoor Living

I love a good makeover--always. I love a well decorated room--always. I love outdoor family gatherings. Isn't that beautiful trifecta of things so well put together in this small backyard? You don't have to have much space to make an outdoor living atmosphere come alive. This yard was featured on one of my all time fave sites, House and Home. Isn't it great?! The color, the soft woods, and the flooring all make this a dream for a friendly BBQ get-together!

Natural Sunlight

I love these rooms! They are classy and simple, but their best feature...is definitely natural sunlight! It makes such a huge difference, doesn't it? Light and clean never looked so attractive!

Feminine//Gothic LOVE

This is not really my decorating style at ALL, but I love the feminine gothic style here with a passion. The black wall and the white wall and huge window with natural light rocks my world. The contrast just works. And look at that amazing headboard! I would never pick that out in a million years, but I love it, and it's perfect for this room. It adds just the right amount of femininity. I think this is why decorating homes fascinates me so much, because no matter how many rooms I look at, each has it's own personality, and two are never ever the same. What's your favorite style? This one could be ranking pretty high in the next decade of my life. I'm already wondering which wall in my house could survive painted black.

Small Space Storage Solutions

If you're like me at all, you would understand my need to organize (and basically hide) any and all of my stuff. I like to decorate, but I just don't love it all sitting out. In fact, If I could have a house of all wood floors, handle-less cabinets, and bare colorful walls, I sure would. But, I know that it's not asthetically pleasing to the eye, so yes, I have learned how to have a nice middle ground. So enough about me...here we go.

Tip #1 Be smart. Sometimes you have limited space and there are spots that could be used for storage if you just spend a little bit of time being creative. There are no wrong answers friends. By the way, don't you love the wallpaper in the picture below, and how it draws your eye to the window? Adorable.
Tip #2 Think outside of the box. There is space you could be using that you're not. Be creative. Maybe you could turn your unused closet into a small home office (and then you could close the door...which I obviously love!)
Tip #3 Look up! Look at all that space on the walls, above the cabinets, and just flat out hanging around!
Tip #4 Stuff things where your momma told you not to! Space under your bed is normally full of random shoes, lost clothes, or things you don't even want to think about, isn't it? You could totally sell all of that junk for some cash and buy yourself some cute baskets or other storage solutions that look this adorable. I bet you'll be glad you did!
Tip #5 Use Mirrors. If you have a really small space, and you want to lose that cramped feel AND need somewhere to put your stuff, look for some tasteful mirror solutions like these. It can be done in a classy way, but be careful, or you might end up on an HGTV home makeover show soon. These can be tricky, but if you get them right, well worth it!
Have a great storage idea of your own? Share it here! I'm sure the other readers would love to hear about it! (all pics were found on my fave Canadian magazine website...House and Home)

See you soon my blogger friends!

xoxo,
Michelle

Andrea's House

So my sweetiepie friend Andrea needs some inspiration. I'm attempting today to capture Andrea's house as she would love it...these pictures simply tell my mind's thoughts. I'm not sure how close I actually am. I'll have to get the verdict soon and let you know.

I couldn't decide on the bathroom. I think I'd go with... a mixture of these color schemes and a chandelier for sure.

...but this bathroom is mine.
